Rebecca Pham, M.A., LPC, NCC

I am a native Vietnamese who migrated to America at a very young age. My passion to become a counselor happened when I was advising a group of teenagers in 2005 at the parish church where I resided. I witnessed their acculturation and identity struggles. Without the therapeutic skills to safely guide and watch this population blossom, I reentered the University of Holy Cross as a nontraditional student and achieved a Master Degree in Counseling in Marriage and Family.

My original career was in electrical engineer. With this mindset, my theory of orientation in my practice is solution-focused. I work from the present and future perspectives with beliefs that small changes lead to larger changes, and if what you are doing is not working, do something different. Therefore, I assist you in searching for solutions as you break current repetitive, nonproductive behavior patterns that are affecting you, your family or marriage or relationship. As for traumatic past memories and issues, I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapy to help de-powered disturbing memories. I also incorporate other theories such as CBT, DBT, and Person-centered as needed.

I work with issues of cultural conflicts, self-esteem, anger management, depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, coping skills, present/past traumas including sexaul assault, domestic violence, addictions, spirituality, and relational conflict.

I am bilingual, Vietnamese, and I work with teenagers and up. Feel free to call me at (504)723-2843 or email me at rebtammy@gmail.com. I will gladly answer questions you may have.
